my purpose...

Being a health coach gives me the opportunity to teach you how to think about health and wellness, rather than telling you what you should or should not be doing or eating.  By teaching you the hows and whys, you will learn to make healthy and balanced choices that are right for you.

The Health and Wellness Industry is an incredible volcano of knowledge that is constantly erupting with facts, research studies, diet books/theories, and so much more. Along with media and society, explosions of often contradicting information are being thrown at you on a daily basis leaving you overwhelmed.  My purpose as a Health Coach is to decipher that complexity into simple and authentic. From there, together we will create a foundation of knowledge that can be used in conjunction with additional tools, resources, and support to further guide you in creating your own balanced and healthy lifestyle.

the blog...

It started around the same time I decided to enroll in the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, an online program to become a certified Health Coach.  The excitement I had to learn more about the health industry including food production, nutrition, stress management, fitness, goal setting and much more was overwhelming me in such a positive way.  With this opportunity, I decided the most effective way to process the tremendous amount of information would be to create conversations. This blog are those conversations that I have so that together we can guide each other on our journey for wellness.

BA Psychology, Interpersonal Communications Minor, University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse
Massage Therapy Graduate, Lakeside School of Massage, Madison, WI
Health Coach, Institute for Integrative Nutrition, New York, NY

While growing up in an extremely small town in rural Wisconsin my big dreams were to see what else was out there.  After finishing my Bachelors degree, I graduated from Massage Therapy school and worked my way from being a Massage Therapist, a Massage Instructor, an Assistant Manager at a premiere spa, and now to supervising a local health and fitness club.  During that time, I was lucky enough to be able to live in amazing places including Madison, WI, California Napa Valley, Portland, OR, and Houston, TX.  Strangely enough, I found that I love my small town roots and found a home in lovely Benicia, CA in the East Bay of the San Francisco Bay area and work at Benicia Health and Fitness Club.

My passions include running 5k and 10k races, traveling, and healthy cooking and baking.  On a day off you can find me walking my chocolate lab Maddie, reading mysteries, trying a new healthy recipe and spending time with my incredible husband.
